LONG HORNED BEETLE FAMILY (Cerambycidae)


Description
This beetle is yellow with black markings on the yellow elytra. It is about 2/3 inches long.

Occurrence
This beetle is mostly active during the day, visiting flowers to feed on pollen. Its overall occurrence at Fontenelle nature centers seems to be common as it has been seen at both Fontenelle Forest and Neale Woods.

Comments
This beetle is a member of the flower longhorn subfamily. It closely resembles T. sinuatus which is more common in the southern U.S.
