TICKS/MITES

AMERICAN DOG TICK

LONE STAR TICK

VELVET MITES

Of the great variety of Mites undoubtedly present in our two nature centers, only one has been photographed so far. It stands out in early spring, because of its bright red color. We have photographed two species of Ticks and they are described here. Adult males have different markings than females. And the nymphs of both species are very small and usually red, barely able to be seen with the naked eye.
