Description
The Pink-barred Pseudeustrotia has a wingspan of .75 to 1 inch. The forewing is dark brown except for the outer third, which is a mottled pale tan and pale gray, crossed diagonally by a wide pale pink band. The hindwing is light gray or grayish-brown.
Occurrence
This is a common moth in Fontenelle Forest and Neale Woods. The adults fly from May to September.
Comments
The larval food plants are dock, goldenrod and smartweed. This moth was formerly named Pink-barred Lithacodia. This is the only species in this genus in North America.
