Description
The Delicate Moth has a wingspan of approximately 1.5 inches. The forewings are uniformly grayish-brown marked with black oblique dashes mid-wing. When fresh, the lines and outlines are mossy green. The green shading wears off with age. The hindwings are plain tan to light brown.
Occurrence
The Delicate Moth is uncommon in its range which is from southern Canada and the northern states with a few sightings as far south as northern Kansas and northern Kentucky. It has been photographed once at Fontenelle Forest coming to lights in late May 2015. It flies from May to September.
Comments
Host plants are unknown. There is very little known about this moth or the caterpillar.
